The Philadelphia Eagles are more than just a legendary NFL team, they’re a powerhouse of media innovation. With every home game sold out since 1999 and millions of fans tuning in digitally, their dedicated media and production team plays a vital role in delivering high-quality content to a passionate and loyal audience. This team is responsible for capturing, organizing, and distributing an enormous volume of digital assets across platforms, ensuring that the energy and excellence of the Eagles brand is experienced far beyond the stadium.
To support these efforts, the Eagles partnered with Chesapeake Systems (CHESA), a trusted leader in media workflow solutions, to modernize and streamline their content management infrastructure.
As the Eagles migrated from a legacy Media Asset Management (MAM) system to Mimir, they encountered major workflow limitations. Mimir offered fixed features but lacked the customization and flexibility the team relied on to maintain their complex editorial workflows. Editors were bypassing the MAM and pulling content directly from the SAN, leading to unmanaged media, duplicated assets, and soaring storage costs. Projects lacked visibility, external content wasn’t being ingested properly, and archiving processes had stalled leaving their storage environment disorganized and nearly maxed out.
With years of content living outside their system of record and rising demands for fast, multiplatform content delivery, the Eagles needed a smarter, more connected solution.
CHESA implemented Helmut4 and helmut.cloud to give the Eagles full control over their production workflows. By integrating Helmut4 into Adobe Creative Cloud tools and connecting with Mimir, CHESA established a project-based ecosystem that enabled seamless ingest, automated tagging, proxy creation, and cloud archiving- all while reducing duplication and storage strain. The workflow used for this project is executed approximately 80,000 times a month via the agent model of the helmut.cloud platform and updates all assets uploaded to the system.
Editors gained real-time visibility into project assets and space usage, with intuitive dashboards to track work and collaborate more efficiently. Helmut4 also ensured remote projects could be re-linked into Mimir upon ingest, and automated metadata updates allowed for smarter search and categorization. The result: a unified, searchable, and scalable media environment that accelerated delivery to web, social, and on-demand platforms- saving time, storage costs, and creative energy.
