Federal-Focused Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

CHESA is seeking a dynamic and client-centric Federal-Focused Solutions Architect (SA) to join our growing team of workflow and technology experts. In this highly valued role, you will serve as the technical counterpart to our federal-focused Account Executive(s), playing a pivotal role in pre-sales engagements and consultative services across government agencies and federally aligned media environments. This role blends technical consulting, solution architecture, and workflow design in support of CHESA’s mission to transform digital media ecosystems. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of media technology and business objectives, can seamlessly communicate with both engineers and executives, and understands the unique challenges and compliance requirements of the federal space.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Partner with federal sales personnel to provide technical insight and strategic guidance throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Drive and support technical discovery, workflow analysis, and requirements gathering with government clients and federal contractors.
  • Deliver solution architecture designs and scoping documents in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and "workflow therapist," leading deep-dive Workflow Discoveries and delivering direct-to-client consultation engagements.
  • Balance pre-sales support and consultative efforts, including technical demos, architectural documentation, and roadmap planning.
  • Contribute to the creation of business and technical proposals, executive summaries, and client-facing deliverables.
  • Maintain fluency in federal compliance and procurement standards that impact solution design and implementation.
  • Actively collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendor partners—both within and beyond the DMV region—to shape federal go-to-market strategies, ensure solution alignment, and expand CHESA’s mindshare in the federal space.
  • Engage with current and prospective federal clients in tandem with vendor partners to co-develop solution strategies and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Report directly to the Vice President of Solutions Consulting and work cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a collaborative, consultative approach.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in technical pre-sales, engineering, or solution consulting roles—preferably within the Media & Entertainment (M&E) or Federal sector.
  • Previous experience working in or selling to federal agencies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct workflow and technology discovery sessions and translate findings into actionable solutions.
  • Experience designing and/or supporting infrastructure that includes:
  • High-Performance Storage Solutions (SAN, NAS, Object, Cloud)
    • Video and Media Data Management, Archive, and Backup strategies
    • Media Asset Management Platforms such as CatDV, IPV, Mimir, Iconik
    • Baseband and IP Video Ingest and Delivery Systems
    • IT and Production Networking within both traditional and virtualized environments
    • Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid architectures
    • AI and Machine Learning as applied to media workflows
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools and media supply chain technologies is a plus.
  • Experience authoring technical architecture documents, user stories, executive summaries, white papers, and consultancy reports.
  • Comfort and professionalism presenting to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
  • A strong desire to remain current on evolving technologies and architecture strategies relevant to the federal M&E space.
